The Rules Of The House

Postby Messias » Fri, 11/07/2008, 22:06:02

Basic rules
Board language is English.

Not allowed:
  • Child pornography.
  • Adult orientated pictures/videos in general.
  • Playboy, FHM, Maxim, ZOO or any other copyrighted pictures (even if there's only a watermark on the pics they are copyrighted and must not be posted).
  • Fake images.
  • Pictures of private people (this is a board made for celebrity pics, so don't ever post images of ordinary people).
  • Nudity.
  • Pictures taken by the following photographers: Barry Rosen, Marcel Schar, Bernhard Kühmstedt, Thorsten Buhe, Christian Pantel, Michael Wilfling, Christian Schoppe, Semi Harvold, Mark Liddell.
  • Pictures of: Suzie Kerstgens.
  • Abusing other members (this will result in an immediate and permanent ban from this board).
  • Reposts of events that already exist (they will be deleted; please use the board search before posting to find existing topics).
  • Direct links or hyperlinks (as post content) to any other website/board, besides your own and/or your own webspace. Posts should show thumbnails by default.
  • Trading, selling or sharing your account (this will result in an immediate and permanent ban from this board).
  • Trading, selling, sharing or posting any kind of passwords/tricks to get access to sources (don't even ask for it).
  • The use of any kind of cash hosters to post your pics.
  • Using the board to collect points/money with file hosters.
  • The following free picture hosters: xs.to, turboimagehost.com.
  • Posting LQ/MQ pictures (less than 1000 px for both dimensions - that means less than 1000 px in width and height) except for the Caps or your own art sections. Examples:
    • 1300x1600 = ok (both dimensions)
    • 520x2150 = ok (at least one is 1000 px or higher)
    • 980x720 = no (both dimensions are less than 1000 px)
  • Political or religious comments.
  • Messages involving warez or serials and/or software trading in general.
  • Using the picture links from this board's posts, without permission, to repost on other websites/boards (this will result in an immediate and permanent ban from this board).
  • Using the picture links from other website's/board's posts, without permission, to repost here (this will result in an immediate and permanent ban from this board).
  • Changing the filenames when reposting pictures. If a member refuses to follow this rule the member will get a warning or will get banned. Giving credit to the original poster at The Mansion when reposting at other websites/boards isn't mandatory but prefered.
  • Reposting elsewhere without thanking the poster. If you are taking pictures from The Mansion to repost to other websites/boards it's a matter to thank the poster in the topic, of course. That means not one time a day or two times every month, but whenever you take one topic to post it elsewhere. If a member refuses to follow this rule the member will get a warning or will get banned.
  • Reposting our contents to websites/boards that are commercialized - we'll reserve our right to ban you without any further warning! Hint: almost all social media websites are connected to commerce. This also means websites/boards serving/embedding advertizements.
  • Posting pictures that are tagged by fan websites ("FST"), blogs or other boards!
  • Posting or requesting full TV shows/movies or links to them. This constitutes reproduction/distribution and therefore is not permitted here at The Mansion.
  • Sexual comments regarding underage celebrities. We don't have any age limit for posted mainstream celebrities such as event pics, shootings, promos/stills - so we'll delete any of those comments on the spot and the member will get a warning or will get banned in case of recurrence.
  • Multiple accounts. If you got banned or your account got deactivated you have to contact us to have a chance of re-engaging your original account. Trying to sign up with new accounts will most likely result in giving you no access ever again.
  • Signing up anew instead of resolving problems with your initial account. If you want to re-join you can do this only with your already existing account.
  • Spamming the board (this will result in a permanent ban from this board).
We consider the following as spam:
    • Power posting = Posting twice or more in a row in the same topic in order to get a higher post count.
    • Posting pointless replies = Anyone with common sense will be able to tell which replies do and do not contribute to the forums.
    • Posting or PM'ing advertisements = Don't join here to advertise.
    • Starting pointless topics = Again anyone with common sense will know what's pointless.
    • Speed posting = When we look at your recent posts and a great amount of your last posts have all been done within like 30 seconds of each other.
  • Changing your chosen nickname. Think well before you choose a name, because we'll only change it if there's a really important reason. In real life you won't get to change your name very often. Even witness protection programs won't allow you to change your name all the time.
  • Using a VPN, or a proxy, or a cloud service, or any other third party network. Connect to us thru your ISP's network only. See How to use a VPN/proxy/cloud the right way: Instructions on setting up an exclusion rule if you still rely on one. Repeated violation will result in a permanent ban.
Pictures and videos posted on this board are for personal entertainment purposes only and must not be used in any form of commercial setting or enterprise.

If you are the copyright holder of any picture on this board and want your picture removed please let us know and we'll do so immediately.

Posting rules
  • Post in the proper forum for your post. There are a lot of areas with different topics. If you're unsure where to post ask in The Helpdesk: Any questions about how and where to post, the rules, any issues of everything else you need help with or ask a staff member.
  • Giving credit to the original poster (if you know her/him) is not mandatory but would be prefered. If you know them and don't want to give credit, please respect them by not changing their filenames.
  • If you're creating a picture post, then use the full name of the celebrity in the title of the topic (it's important for the board search, so that everybody can find it). Also fill the "All celebs associated" textbox with all names that can be seen at least one picture, separated by commas.
  • When starting a topic it should look like this:Subject: Amanda Bynes (24 x)
Topic description line: Toe Jam Picking Contest, in her Backyard, Los Angeles, California, 09/22/2011
All celebs associated, separated by comma: Amanda Bynes, Bernadette Peters, Harry Connick Jr.
Please add as much info as you have available to make the job easier for our moderators and all of our members who are searching for or watching your posts. This helps in avoiding reposts. Important is to use 2011 instead of 11 for the year, because the board search is able to find 2011, but can't find terms or numbers of less than 4 chars. This also prevents misinterpreting different date formats ("09/22/2011" versus "22.09.2011" versus "2011-09-22").
  • Please try to associate all occuring persons as celebrities by either using the alphabet letter links to browse a directory of all celebs and clicking on them, or by simply typing all their names into the All celebs associated textbox, separated by comma. This helps alot in finding posts for specific celebs, especially fans of those.

Request rules
You must follow these rules when making a request:
  • Do not make your first post a request. The request section is for active contributing members of this board.
  • Do not PM administrators, moderators, or other members for requests.
  • Members who post nothing but requests will be banned from the request areas.
  • Use the board search before making a request. Please don't waste other member's time asking for something that's already available.
  • Be respectful and limit the number and frequency of your requests. We didn't set a limit for requests but we will if we see abuse.
  • You can make requests for specific pictures from one event for a celebrity or you can make a general request for pictures of a celebrity.
  • Please make separate posts for each celebrity requested unless you're looking for multiple celebrities pictures from the same event.
  • Please give the specific name and date of an event or photoshoot (the more info the better and the higher your chance to get your request filled).
  • Don't name any agencies or link to pictures at any agencies. Please post an example photo if you can find one (hosted on a free picture hoster or your own web space, if it isn't copyrighted).
  • Don't bump your own requests.
Failure to abide by any of these rules will result in your request being deleted and probably your access to the request area will be restricted.

Repeated failure to abide by these rules will result in being banned from The Pastureland - where your Requests go and are ripening.

  • When filling a request do not post the pictures as a reply to the request topic. Please post them in the proper forum and reply with the link to the new topic in the request topic.
It won't be possible to fill every request, but we sure will try. :D

Member activity rules
All members are required to post and visit regularly to keep their account here at The Mansion. Inactive members are regularly pruned from the board for the following reasons:
  • New members will have their accounts deactivated after 1 week of membership if they still have 0 posts at the end of the seventh day.
  • Any member who doesn't average 2 posts a month is considered an "inactive member" and his account will be deactivated at the end of a complete month.
  • Members who haven't posted in 3 months will have their accounts deactivated.
  • Members who don't visit the board for 3 months will have their account deactivated. However, If you know you're going to be away for longer than that please notify a member of the staff with the reason and we'll put you on the prune proof list or deactivate your account for the time you plan to be absent.
Note: These counts are minimum count rules for people who're not that often aboard, who're not interested in all our stuff and who don't have a lot of time to visit us more often. We reserve our rights to match the counts with the amount of topics visited, reposting to other boards and whatever else would be relevant.

Suggestion about avatars and signatures
We'd like to suggest to all our members to use avatars (as possible) because it's kind of more personal if everybody will identify you by a personally chosen picture.

You're allowed to use banners in your signature that'll link to your homepage, websites, blogs or simply your favorite site/board, as far as the links don't defy against any of the other rules.

You can also compile a list of your favorite celebrities, so others can compare those. Having a favorite list also enables you to get notifications once new postings of your favorites are created.

Reason: LQ/MQ examples; fixing mistakes; anchors; VPN/proxy; fixing ambiguous "not allowed: credit" point

Board access limited or denied

Postby AmigoJack » Thu, 09/08/2016, 17:23:30

Having limited or no access to the board can have different reasons and is also named with different terms. If you encounter such a situation it mostly comes with an explanation already. Also based on how far you get you can recognize the type of limitation:
  1. You cannot log in.
    This can have several reasons:
    1. Either the username is unknown to us or the password is wrong. We won't tell which of that is the issue, as then brute forcing would be made a lot easier.

    2. Your account does not exist yet. Submitting an enrollment needs our inspection first and you are unable to log in anyway, since you don't know any password.

    3. Your account does not exist anymore. Virtually this cannot happen, as we don't delete accounts. Only if you had an account back in 2008 or early 2009 this might be the reason.

    4. The board is closed. This is written as a message all over the board, not displaying any forums anymore and you shouldn't have been able to proceed to any login anyway.
  2. You can log in but get a message.
Please note that it's an important difference if you cannot log in, or if you can and then just can't do what you expected. Possible messages are:
    1. You have been permanently banned from this board.
This happens for a reason, which is also printed next to the message. Bans result from repeatedly violating our rules, or a severe violation of our rules.

    2. You have been banned from this board until...
Meant as a severe warning (in contrast to warnings that won't affect your board access). Happens rarily. In contrast to a permanent ban this is only temporary.

    3. The specified username is currently inactive.
Either your account got deactivated for violating the activity rules, or you were invited but yet not approved.
  3. You can log in but a couple of forums are missing.
This mostly comes with a new private message in your inbox which explains it or asks you a couple of questions. In any case it's a good idea to read the PM and to reply to it. If you don't have a PM, look at the board index where you should see a box with instructional text.

  4. You cannot remember username and/or password and/or email address.
In case you just forgot your password you can use the reset password feature. If you don't even manage to do that then just contact us thru email. Of course, fill it with details that help ruling out which account is yours. And how we can be sure we're actually talking to the account owner (and not someone who just acts this way and instead tries to hijack an existing account).
You're always free to contact us thru email. Signing up anew is not allowed: if your account has been limited then it was for a reason - submitting a new registration would circumvent both limitation and reason. But this was already stated in our rules as well.
